This great direct trade micro lot comes to us from the 500 farming families of the cooperative as small share contributors. Two-thirds of the farmers are women. All of the coffee is dried and then wet milled in Kasese, cupped to ensure quality and then prepared for export. The farmers receive fair pricing, and benefit from sponsored trading in sustainable, organic agricultural process that produce high quality coffees. This ensures that they will always have a coffee that will command premium prices at market. The long term goal of this partnership is to break the cycle of generational poverty and ensure that the next generation of farmers has the knowledge, skills and access to tools to be self-sustaining, forward thinking and prosperous.
